
Terms of Business.
By engaging Proper Home Energy Inc for Energy Advising services, you agree to the following terms of business:

Fees and Payment

Work is billed incrementally at the time of service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For existing home energy evaluations, pre-payment is required.

Quoted prices are valid for 30 days from the date of quotation; thereafter, fees may be subject to change.

Applicable taxes, including 5% GST, will be added to all invoices.

Invoices are due upon receipt.

Travel and Site Visits

Travel within the Kootenay and Kootenay Boundary region is provided free of charge.

Scope of Work

Our services cover the agreed-upon scope at the time of engagement.

Fees are inclusive of project discussions, and include any updates made to insulation levels, window specifications and mechanical systems between pre-permit and final occupancy.

Significant redesigns, or additional work outside of the agreed scope will be billed at $140/hour.

Any changes to project information or documentation provided by you may affect timelines, fees, and outcomes.

Client Responsibilities

You confirm that all information you provide to Proper Home Energy is true, accurate, and complete.

You agree to promptly provide updated information or documentation if circumstances change.

Rebates and Incentive Programs

Proper Home Energy provides guidance on rebate and incentive programs (including FortisBC programs) but is not responsible for your eligibility or compliance with program requirements.

All rebates will be paid directly to the registered builder, in accordance with FortisBC terms and conditions, unless otherwise approved in writing by the registered builder.

Limitation of Liability

Proper Home Energy will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing services but does not guarantee specific outcomes (including rebate approvals).

We will not be liable for any losses, costs, or damages arising from your failure to meet program requirements or provide accurate information.

Termination

Either party may terminate services by providing written notice. Fees for work completed up to the date of termination will remain payable.

Governing Law
-
These Terms of Business are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of B.C.
